Good for them if they do swap.
Question though. Doesn't the league have rules about when you can change your number or name? I remember Chad Ocho Cinco couldn't get his new name on his jersey because it was past a deadline or something. I think it was something about the jersey's for the year already had been made. |

Re: Thomas and Lutz Trading Numbers?
The NFL’s rule book states that: “For competitive reasons, no player may change his uniform number once the regular season begins. . . . Special exceptions to this rule may be considered by the NFL Football Operations department depending on the circumstances (e.g., player traded to another team).” September 8th for 2022
Another rule on number changes is that there is a price and it is not the same for each player. Before a player can change his number he must buyout the existing inventory of jerseys everywhere (Dicks/Nike/Etc.). Dalvin Cook was asked to pay $1.5MM to change his number. He is also on the record saying that if he waited he wouldn't have to pay it but there is no indication to how long. |

As long as it doesn't mess with their mojo I don't care. The only thing is that I'd be a little upset if I bought a jersey and had to go buy another one to keep up with the times.

It you have the player’s jersey with Old number already there’s no reason to get the new one…the old one is “Vintage”!
