JP kinda touched on this a few days ago in a related post.

Maybe DB couldn't stand the sight of working alongside Florio & Simms for 7, 8 hours a day? Driving in to cold Bristol, CT office isn't the same as being down South ... culture, food, weather, atmosphere & whatnot.

I wouldn't blame him if that was the case :bng:

Yeah, the part where he says that he prepared the same way as an in game analyst as he did when he was preparing for a game as a QB was very telling. There is only one NBC color commentator because NBC only has the one game a week. I have a feeling he'll have a game commentator gig at Fox or CBS fairly soon.

Round hole. Square peg. Let him just talk about the plays and explain the game. That is where he shines. He is designed to diagnose plays.
