No. I'm pretty sure saintsfan1976 was asking why would Brees ever want to be a backup QB. Not for the money. Not to stay close to the game. He can do that as an announcer. Not as a mentor. Said this before, Brees wanted to call games and as the Commentator, he'd eventually excel as Romo does...

I'd pair him with a young, non-bumbling announcer doing at lease one college game a week and give him one NFL game a week; before long, he'd be as good as Romo...
