I'd be open to trading Vannett. It's not like he's lit the field up since he's been here. Somebody will give up at least a 7th rounder for him.

Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints roster breakdown: Tight ends
Honestly, depending on Taysom's return time frame I could see us giving him an injury settlement. I don't know if it's feasible or not but if I were the front office I'd be looking into it. And I like the idea of trading Vannette for a seventh. We may have brought in his dopple ganger already but I can't think of his name. He's a blocking tight end with decent receiving skills.

Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints roster breakdown: Tight ends
Maybe just maybe one steps up and fills out the TE position and that has been stagnant for years. All that are on the roster are big question marks. I'm pulling for Hill but who knows at this point. Krull hopefully takes off. If Vannette is our best TE when it shakes out, we're in dire need and if that's the case I would look hard for a TE that gets cut before season stats.

Trautman is a surprisingly good blocker. So are Vannette and Hill. I've heard that Krull is blocks fairly well too. Now if Dan Roushar can get them running crisp routes and cleanly catching the ball then I'll el even better about this group. Could we use an upgrade now rather than developing them for the future? |

Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints roster breakdown: Tight ends
I thought Trautman was going to step up last year as a receiving TE, but (especially early) he didn't. However later in the year he looked better, more clutch. There are a lot of great WR's that have taken a few years to develop. Given that our O-line and rotating QB's were problematic last year maybe he can step it up this year. We have suddenly enough strong WR's this year maybe a catch receiving TE won't be a big deal if he doesn't.
