I think you lost the thread Guido:

"The Texans were/are messed up because of Easterby. That's why there's all the losses."

It's just foolish to think that because Watson's Texans won 4 games, that he's not a dangerous QB. I still remember the heroics the Saints had to pull off the last time they played the Watson led Texans. The Browns have talent in each and every position group. They are also well coached now. They are going to be a very dangerous team in 2022. And especially so the last 6 games with Watson at the controls.

I know some folks like a good, juicy 'NFL deep state conspiracy', but in the end, wasn't this a negotiated settlement between the NFLPA and the NFL (not a Goodell edict)?

I'm reminded of an old saying: A conspiracy involves at least two or more parties. The reason they rarely work is that someone ALWAYS tells.

Possibly. But I doubt there is a single meaningful thing that happens in the league that doesn’t have Roger’s stamp of approval…officially or unofficially.

1. Don’t think it’s a conspiracy.

2. Watson is a dangerous QB, and not just in the massage room.

3. We should beat the Browns with or without Watson, but mobile Quarterbacks give us problems. This is especially true if they run the read option. See Philadelphia who always manages to have the rare great running game against the Saints.

A Doomsday scenario for you: Brissett has career year, and after week 11 has a high QBR, 19 TD's and 3 INT's and Browns are 8-3. The civil case is still open or in progress and Watson is still dismissive and 'standing on innocence'. Suddenly in the midst of playoff positioning you're prompted to change to a 200 million dollar QB who hasn't played in 2 years. Very few people in the media, fan base and locker room will be accepting of Watson. Watson and the Browns management will be out on a limb in the middle of a tsunami.

We're talking Browns' here. They'll start Watson right away come Hell or high water.
