Never had the pleasure to meet David in person. We've had so many discussions here (not just Saints) so I feel like I know him as a friend.

Brother, if you could hear me now - let me express just how much I appreciate your comradery, passion and intellect here. You made B&G feel like a home for us all for years.

I would greatly miss your wisdom and insight. I'm sure there's a ton of fish in Louisiana who'd breathe a sigh of relief but the rest of us need you here, cheering us on through the roller coaster of Saints fandom.

Praying for you.

Just called the hospital... He's getting palliative care at the moment. They're saying EOL is imminent.

Praying for a pain free transition.

That's awful. We are always unprepared when friends and loved ones pass away.
I'm eager for you to be pain free, JP. I can't wait to meet you in heaven, brother.

Halo and I just visited JP for probably the last time. Father Graf performed his last rites prayers. JP isn't coherent anymore. But he did squeeze Halo's hand. So he still can hear us. It could be anytime. God Speed, JP.

Smash and Halo, that's an incredibly kind and incredibly difficult thing you guys have done. Thank you for doing that for JP.

I'm sure he felt the love of the people visiting him, I really hope his passing is peaceful and free of pain.

Thank you for the years of great conversation JP, I never met you in person but I felt you were a friend of mine whenever we spoke.

He's like family to us and everyone here

JoAnn is setting up a GoFundMe for his final expenses. He was not a rich man, in fact barely made ends meet , especially with the great challenges he endured after Hurricane Ida. JoAnn told us today he has liens on everything he owns. As soon as she sets it up, we'll post a link here. I think it's the least we can do.

re: Prayers for Jeanpierre - Passed away 8/26/2022

I've been through a lot of this "end of life" stuff lately. Even some hospice. Lost both my parents and some friends, oddly no one to Covid except for Glenn (Foreverfan).

I gave JP (David) the ole chooch! Talked loud near him and held his hand. I told him everyone here is praying for him.

Earlier today David awakened and told Joann (caretaker) that he was "very scared" of what might happen. He said his mind was consumed with fear of not knowing what happens next.

I told David not to worry - the world is kinda crappy right now and we're all asking Our Maker to open the gates for our brother JP (David). He will be in a better place.

I also insisted I was "Halo" and "everyone at blackandgold.com was thinking and praying" for him. He squeezed my hand. I told him this was a good thoughtful thread, and he will be remembered.

We're going to do some things to memorialize members who we know have passed away. JoeSam was the first member I met from here who passed on us. I still remember him. Nicest guy you could ever meet. We grabbed ribeye steaks in da quarter along with some cocktails back around 2006-07.

Please pray JP (David) heads off fast and easy. He has suffered enough here on earth.
