I gave JP (David) the ole chooch! Talked loud near him and held his hand. I told him everyone here is praying for him.

Earlier today David awakened and told Joann (caretaker) that he was "very scared" of what might happen. He said his mind was consumed with fear of not knowing what happens next.

I told David not to worry - the world is kinda crappy right now and we're all asking Our Maker to open the gates for our brother JP (David). He will be in a better place.

I also insisted I was "Halo" and "everyone at blackandgold.com was thinking and praying" for him. He squeezed my hand. I told him this was a good thoughtful thread, and he will be remembered.

We're going to do some things to memorialize members who we know have passed away. JoeSam was the first member I met from here who passed on us. I still remember him. Nicest guy you could ever meet. We grabbed ribeye steaks in da quarter along with some cocktails back around 2006-07.

Please pray JP (David) heads off fast and easy. He has suffered enough here on earth.
Amen

It breaks my heart to hear that he's scared. I hope your words brought him peace. Hits a little close to home, considering my Dad passed in December due to cancer. Thankfully he had no doubts or worries about what comes next, and was very much ready to go, even if we weren't ready for him to go. We have a graceful and merciful God, and I fully believe that if there's something..holding David back, I suppose I'll say..then God will allow him the time and clarity he needs to sort that out, even if no one else is privy to it. I'll be praying hard for whatever his spirit needs to be free to go home. Thank you for the updates, and for letting him know we're praying for him and thinking of him.

All,

It's with a heavy heart that I announce that David just passed away. I just got a text message he passed at around 12:20pm, only a few minutes ago.

Please pray David makes a speedy journey to his creator, but don't dwell too much. David is in a much better place.

Pray for all of us people stuck here on earth!!

I'm very saddened to hear this.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

We'll miss you David (JP), I know I do.

I’m so sorry to hear this. He’s in a better place now, free of suffering. Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, be sure to live your life and spend time with your family. I’ll miss you JP

Oh man, I’m sorry I am just now seeing this and my thoughts are with him, his family, and everyone here on B&G.
J.P. seemed like one hell of a guy. I learned so much from him and he always took the time to simplify things for people like me who don’t know a ton about the game. Every year I looked forward to his training camp updates because it signified the start of another season. I wish him the best and I know that wherever he is now the pain is gone and he has reached the next step to a better part of his life.
I believe our souls go on to exist in a higher place after we leave this Earth. A place to live when we outgrow this one. Not really sure where that place is but if it’s a place where there’s football and fishing 12 months out of the year I know J.P. has found it.
I truly am very sorry to hear this news. Things will never be the same around here.

Deeply saddened by this news, but at the very least he is now pain free.

No words really...
