He performed poorly in pre season - hand placement needs a ton of work. For the Raiders to give up on a former 1st rounder after ONE season is pretty telling. Big swing and miss for Mayock and Gruden. |

You also have a new regime at the helm. I'm not defending Leatherwood's performance (I haven't watched it at all), BUT can he be revived in the right system as pointed out?

Some coaches make you work to earn their praise...especially the hard nosed ones. Marrone, as I recall, was a top motivator and technician, which is why he was recruited away. ![]()
He could be one of the most influential coaches on the team if he can teach Peat and Ruiz the proper fundamentals and instill a tougher attitude. I read somewhere that he was focusing solely on the guards in training camp. Lord knows they need it! Fingers crossed. |
