This renovation keeps the Saints in the state for the foreseeable future, and more importantly, keeps the Dome in the rotation for the Super Bowl and all other huge events. The $450 million was a fraction of what it would take to build an entire new complex for basically the same end result. New stadiums are running two to three billion, for example.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Super Dome and feel like it's a historic icon for sporting arenas. I was merely commenting on the corruption in La.

Oh, I know, Rugs. I just can't say enough about the new Superdome. And make no mistake, it is new! We were in the Dome the final game prior to Katrina and the changes are astounding. It is totally unrecognizable beyond the general shape of the exterior structure.
