Week 2 - Bucs @ Saints

TB already talking about Saints post game against Cowgirls. He said next game against a team we've had trouble with the last couple of years.

Should we feel special? :bng:

Dominant? He had 14 catches for 190 and 1 TD in 2 losses. Not sure I’d call 7/90/0.5 dominant.

Did they have anyone on their roster do better? Or even come close? A definition of dominant is the "most important, powerful, or influential."

In two losses he doesn’t fit any of those.

He was by a large margin the most dominant player on their team facing us last year. No one else was even close. Winning or losing the game doesn't change that fact.

I'm still not recovered from yesterday's win. If y'all could've heard ho loud all the Saints fans were before, during and especially after the game.

Argue all you want Guido, the guy said he was “dominant in the slot”. When you lose a game 9-0 i don’t consider that to be dominating. He had one good game.

I take that back….his 4 catch 41 yard day was clearly an impressive feat! Dominance my a$$.

He had eight catches for 140 yards and a touchdown against us the other game against us. Those two games combined were by far the most dominant slot play we faced all year. THAT is a fact.

The problem here is that you do not understand the definition of the word "dominant". That make any further argument fruitless.

Again, one good game. But you like to argue.

At least get the facts right, Boston. He had 6 catches for 49 yards in the 9-0 game. Which led the team in both categories against us. Or, by definition, the most dominant from the slot against us that day.

And it takes two to argue. And you are dominant from your slot at arguing.

:D

That makes it worse as his average dropped. Again, dominant my a$$.

Get Pressure on Brady - Keep Pressure off Winston = We'll be 2-0

It's always fun seeing the Lattimore/Evans matchup. My main concern this game is watching their LB'ers shoot the gaps right up the middle. Keeping Jameis in the shotgun and working our screen game will be very important.

On the SP Colin Cowterd interview posted in the observation thread, they noted the poor play of OLs throughout the league on the first game. They attributed it to the scaling back to 3 preseason games and the lack of timing development. We'll see if they are right for game two, if we see tremendous improvement.

Brady is a tad less elusive than Mariota and his offensive line is far more decimated.

I’m rather surprised this wasn’t a Sunday night game instead of GB/Chicago. I realize Tampa isn’t getting 2 Sunday night games in a row, but seems GB/Minn would be the first week’s Sunday night game and Tampon/Saints week 2. Just a thought.

Stop the run.
Pressure Brady.
Attack the Bucs secondary early and often.

This. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like CGJ was in Brady's head a bit. I hope he's not missed too much. I know it's early, but does anyone know Adebo's status?

OLINE has to play better, specifically RUIZ.

He cannot continue to allow free releases through the A gap, while trying to help Ramz or simply standing around is becoming monotonous.

3 years in, if he's not improving he needs to have a seat. Tired of the excuses for his poor play.

He will eventually get our QB hurt or seriously injured.

Todd Bowles is bringing the heat on 3rd downs.

And if no one behind Ruiz is any better? What do you do then? Serious question, K.

I think Ruiz has hit his very disappointing ceiling.

As a first round pick, if you play that badly and even Jahri Evans cant raise your level, then I just don't think he's suited for a starting role.

Ruiz ended Brees's career, I hope he doesn't get Winston injured.

Honestly at this stage I don't think you can do anything, unless DA and the Front Office can mastermind a trade for a competent Guard.

I'd hate to see Winston suffer bad guard play like Brees did. It's hurt us for years in the playoffs and just seems to get ignored.

Yup. You gotta go with what you have and hope it gets better. You can utilize the FB more. You can move the pocket. Stay in the hurry up which looked good. There are options.

If this is true and our guards are the best we can have this year, then plays have to be designed to take that into account. No more plays like the Ingram 2 point conversion. More help from the RB and TEs in pass protection. More plays that can get outside the tackle box. More plays that are quicker throws but with some loft that will allow the WRs to work downfield like Landry's catch. If they are bringing blitzes then some WR or TE has to be on single coverage. Winston did a great job not forcing his throws and picking his spots.
