I can count on one hand the number of days in the past 25-30 years where I didn't wear some article of Saints apparel (I have about 20 Saints caps so it's pretty easy). I hate it when we lose, but I always enjoy being able to watch my team play ... win or lose. When we lose I never feel anger. Disappointment, yes, but never anger.

If someone let's a game anger them so badly that it affects their relationships then I suppose not watching and abandoning the game entirely is best. Sad, but I understand I suppose.

Everyone's different. Not just about sports but in all walks of life.
Some people get stressed easily, some people don't let stuff bother them.

In my case, not watching for 4 hours every Sunday did the trick as I focused on stuff that gave me enjoyment.
The loss yesterday was painful but I was proud of the way the team fought, so I got over it quickly. Maybe as I get older, I'll be able to flip that switch more easily.

It's just in the past I've struggled with that fine line, being invested is great when you win because it makes the win that much better, but to me, it also made the losses that much harder too.

My wife, the Saint she is, never once complained about watching a game, but she could see that it made me unhappy at times.

Yeah. I agree. The game, just as does life, affects each of us differently. When I was still working I actually enjoyed it when the **** hit the fan or major problems needed solved. Others would be getting pissed off or trying to lay blame, but I just embraced the challenge as calmly as possible and worked toward a solution. Pretty much the only part I miss about work.

It means there are people who care more about the team and their games mean more to them than they do to you.

No. I believe dizzle nailed it. Each of us process things differently. The team and the games mean a great deal to me. Most likely far too much. We basically plan our lives around Saints games. Heck, it determines when and where we vacation. Voluntarily NOT watching my Saints play would be agonizing. Far more so than if they lose a game.

I don't know if the NFL wants to choke out the New Orleans fans and move the team to a bigger market or if the NFL hates the team and it's fanbase. I do know that the missed calls and phantom calls don't endear me to the NFL. And now, the team will take a 10 hour flight to New Orleans from London (a home game) and fly 7 hours to Seattle for their next game.

Maybe it's nothing, but it it sure feels like something.

Seattle and the next game, Cincy, are both home games, ice. We're going to be at both of them. We have three weeks until our next away game in Arizona on October 20.

And if you watched the other games being played you'd be seeing missed and phantom calls in those, too. Part time officials are a joke.

You plan your week around the NFL. You admittedly watch multiple games and listen to the media propaganda seemingly constantly. That’s different than some fans that might be Saints obsessed. If someone’s takes a Saints loss to heart and let’s it bother them for the day while you shake it off then that is proof the game itself meant more.

You don't tell me how I feel and what things mean to me. :disgusted: Where do you get off doing that? :censored:

Just like dizzle pointed out, people process things differently. One's personal reaction doesn't have anything to do with what something means to that person. That is extremely shallow.

We plan our year around the Saints. We plan our week around the Saints. I don't plan anything "around the NFL". If other games are on and I have nothing better to do I watch them. Yesterday after the Saints game my wife and I went out and enjoyed our pool for the remainder of the day. It was the last day we'll be able to utilize the pool most likely since we'll be gone to Saints games or on a cruise the next four weeks.

L O L of the Year.

Guido, you do realize you're constantly telling members here how they should feel. You see that, right?

All the... "I just don't let it bother me" "I just let the 'experts' decide" "we'll the players say it's ok so you shouldn't challenge them.."
