RE: Time to trade the defense
BOB, it's not "the defense" or "AB" or "Carney". It's the entire team. AB didn't play well the last couple games. The defense didn't play well the last couple games, and Carney missed a field goal the last game.
This TEAM is losing. I'm not happy with the play or the penalites of any of the team. Why the hell does everyone always make it sound like one person or the defense or the special teams is losing these games. Like everyone else has played like pro-bowlers right? Give me a break. |

RE: Time to trade the defense
i find the d to be improved this year. not where it needs to be at all but improved. at the same time i always wonder with the talent we have at d-end what the hell is the problem. i come back to coaching. i don't care if it is arron we are talking about or the d i think we need a new staff. jim will probably get another job somewhere else in the league and much like ray rhodes he will again fail. then he will realize he is nothing more then a d-coord. i think that the haz try's and works hard to be a success. it just isn't in him to be one. not at the head coaching position. i hope that starting this week somehow things change around. as much i want jim replaced i would prefer to make the playoffs. the time has been just to hard to take as a fan. anyway that is what i think and take from it what you will. i would say that probably isn't much

I've said it before this week....the defense hasn't lost the last 2 games for us, the offense and special teams has.
Could the D play better? Yes...much better, but they're the least of our problems right now. You AB apologists are the most unobjective people I've ever seen. I give AB props when he plays well, I get on him when he doesn't. I used to defend him alot more. He is not getting any better, you could argue that he is getting worse. Here is the simple part: if you thought we would win the last 2 games scoring 10 and 16 points, then you have not watched the Saints lately. There are not alot of teams who can win with that sort of production. Brooks has been innacurate and turnover prone. He hasn't even given us the flashes of brilliance that we get some of the time. How in the hell do Horn and Stallworth combine for 11 yds? It's simple...AB. I've gotten used to these sorts of posts, whether it was Billy/Euph/and now BnB....unhitch your wagon boys. The loyalty is admirable....but it is also blind. You gotta watch the game for what it is....not for ways to defend your boy. I've had it with AB. I will root hard for him tomorrow and he may have a good game....assuring a bad one in Lambeau. |

What in the world is going on?
BoB, I have said a couple of points that you have made here, time and time again. Coaching will do more for this team than we realize. I don't think anyone here will dispute that. However if you think some of us have a hidden agenda to replace a black QB with a white QB, I know for a fact that most of the people who speak out against AB want AMac in right now. Now remind me, what skin color does AMac have??? And what the hell does it matter, as long as he is a good person, does what is right and wins us football games! Just a qoute from me...."Racisim will never die as long as people keep bring it up, we are all Americans, some just dumber than others." |

RE: Re: RE: Re: Time to trade the defense
Our main problem with defence is Venturi or whoever is calling the plays. We should be leading the league in sacks with the talent we have. However, the coaches are scared to blitz. I understant that our cornerbacks are a bit weak (maybe Mckenzie is the exception), but look at what we did against the Vikings when we started blitzing. We were getting sacks left and right. We were shutting down the run game (admittedly with a break through run or two). Our defense was controlling the game.
Yes, we have no great cornerbacks besides Mike Mckenzie. We have a young linebacking corps (give them time.) That said, we have so much talent on defensive line that these facts really shouldn't matter THAT much. Our problem is with the coaches not being able to use the defense to their strengths. |
