Yup. That one play really cost us the game. If he hadn't let that ball go through his hands and off the facemask we would likely had gone down the field and scored to end the half. As it was it made Dalton compound the mistake by making the bad throw trying to press the issue on the next possession. instead of going into the half trailing by two TD's we could have had a three or even seven point lead. Ballgame.

Well, I’ve got a reason to feel responsible. Right after it was tied at 14 we got the ball with about 2 minutes left and timeouts. I folded my arms, looked at the ceiling and said out loud

“Lord, can’t you give us a break here. We need a play, a drive, a bounce…..help them out”.

4 Plays and 2 pick sixes later I realized the Lord had different ideas. So weather it’s the Lord’s displeasure with me or the Lord telling me not to waste prayers on the Saints, I don’t think I’ll ask for devine help again.

This is true. We are moving the ball as well as anyone, but shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers.

The Saints are currently 3rd in the NFL in total yards per game (398.3).

The Saints are currently 8th in the NFL in passing yards per game (256.3).

The Saints are currently 8th in the NFL in rushing yards per game 142).

The Saints are currently 7th in the NFL in average points per game (25.0).

Talk from Dennis Allen is cheap at this stage. We need to start seeing some actual results, he's a great talker, but a pretty bad HC.

I know our community has mixed feelings about Kurt Warner - as do I sometimes - but his QB breakdown does provide some pretty good insight. The pick 6 we aren't blaming Dalton for should be the one we are blaming him for!

Nice find, neugey. While Callaway could have caught the ball it should never have been thrown that early in the route. A Thomas or a Landry may have the ability to snatch it at the last second even if not expecting the throw yet, but Callaway isn't either of them. In fact it should have gone down in the flat to the wide open receiver on the right.

Devery Henderson would be my choice. He struggled early in his career with receptions when Curtis Johnson came along and coached him up. It's a big reason that Tulane brought CuJo in to be their Head Coach. It's also a reason that so many of us were happy he came back to the Saints after Tulane.
I couldn't find a great link using our forum search regarding Johnson coaching up Henderson but if you want to bring back some memories, check out this thread:

Saints coach Sean Payton wasn't shy about pointing out Henderson's issues hanging onto the football. But he also said he hasn't contemplated any sort of position changes going into the Saints' game against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
"He struggled early on, and then he had a missed assignment," Payton said. "I wanted to get Lance (Moore) some work. One of the things I told C.J. (wide receiver coach Curtis Johnson), with the weather, was to rotate those guys. We brought guys in and out. He struggled early, and some of those other guys have been playing pretty well.

I’d like to watch games broadcast from this angle. Especially in high def. It would be better than the close up of the backfield they give us.

Love the analysis. On that end zone INT, who is that who's literally standing wide open on the right on that play? AD must've had tunnel vision for Callaway on that one.
