Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Complete team loss. Just bad all around, probably the worst effort of the season. They should be ashamed of themselves and be embarrassed.
Sad to see and bad for the fans to endure. On to next week... |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
We saw this season coming from 1000 miles away. Didn't the "front office" see this?
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Look at the playcalling and you know how they are playing you. Blow it up
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Cardinals haven't looked this good ALL season. I'm tired of team using us to rejuvenate.

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals

Turnovers, Turnovers, and more Turnovers. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Did DA beat them into submission during training camp to show dominance?
New sheriff in town type crap. Idk but I can't give up on them. Glutton for punishment I guess |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
We have the worst coaching staff available. Payton was the only leader in that coaching group. Sad thing is if you fire Allen now the suck that replaces him will be worse.
Dog **** team with a ton of talent… because our coaches suck. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
I think it's clear that this season is OVER. This team has no heart, and no fire in the belly. Mickey has been in this win now crap mode for a couple years now. It's time for him to face facts and take this team down to the studs and rebuild. Couple of things need to be done:
1. Fire Dennis Allen. Sure it's only been half a season. But I think we've seen enough to realize the man can't lead a team. Let him ride it out and then fire him. I nominate Jon Gruden or Brian Flores to be the next coach. 2. Fire Pete. He looked good only because of Sean. Time to get someone in there who can be an offensive genius. 3. Get a new QB. Winston and Dalton don't cut it. You could have put Winston in there tonight and the result would have been the same. They are not field general franchise leading QBs. 3. Trade Michael Thomas. This is year 2 where he's sat out a lot due to injury and seems to make no effort to try to get back in. He clearly doesn't want to be here. Let's trade him while we can get a decent deal for him, mainly a first round pick. 4. You might have to look at some other stars of the team to trade or cut. Atl and now Carolina are doing it. Carolina sent Robby Anderson to AZ and now Christian McCaffrey to S.F. They are playing it smart. We need to do the same. I would say even Alvin Kamara should be looked at as possible trade bait. Like I said earlier, take it down to the studs and rebuild. It's time to realize the Sean/Drew show is over. We Saints fans are now like the guy in the Bruce Springsteen song "Glory Days" who hung out with friends from high school trying to relive the past. It's over. Time to revamp and retool. |

Shaheed has like 2 touches and two TDs.
Why isn’t he more involved in the 2nd half of games? Sure we have had injuries but the coaching has been BAD. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
I fully expect we will try to stash Shaheed on the practics squad when Thomas and Landry are healthy for one game and he will be signed by another team.
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
At least we'll get a high first round pick.....oh wait.
Thanks Saints Management |

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
The cat is out the bag! They might as well give shaheed more playtime. Practice squad is out the question. Trade Harty or Landry, this kid is possibly our top 3 wr if not 2. Yeah I said it! The kid could be better than Thomas.
Oh yeah! Start Winston, I don’t want any excuses if we should/shouldn’t for next season. Bring back coach Payton, (these youngsters don’t remember or know the season of the brown paper bags). Allen is not the solution. Payton came here and turned this franchise around. We almost made the playoffs last year with less talent. I WANT COACH PAYTON BACK! All the talent in the world don’t compensate for devoted and highly motivator. These turnovers and penalties are details that Payton iron out. If they don’t comply, they will be on the bench. Wrong cleats on the bench. This team is bringing back those days of ‘how we are going to lose today’ |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
DA must have lost the keys to the Kingdom. Payton left him a stacked deck and he can't do anything with it. Not HC material.
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Oh my god we've turned into the FALCONS!!!

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Takeaways:
- Ironically, the major takeaway is this team is all about giving the ball away. This season feels like the inverse of the 2009-2010 Super Bowl run, in that the turnover differential is going in the exact opposite direction. - Mickey helped facilitate a potential dynasty in Philadelphia with two terrible trades. The Eagles would draft 5th or better with our pick if the season ended today. More bad transactions could be on the way with Sean not here to balance Loomis' decision-making. We need a new front office. - The team looks ambivalent and Allen doesn't appear competent as a head coach. The team unity is gone and we don't seem to be playing together as a unit anymore. CSP was clearly the patriarch of the team and everything I see shows me the players haven't come to terms with his departure. Maybe they have during the week and practice, but once the ball is snapped it too often seems there is a lifelessness to this team. Even for the casual sports fan, it's easy to spot bad coaching. We have it. - Pete Carmichael has occasional good moments like the Taysom bubble screen TD catch, but the running game is unimaginative and has regressed to Ditka levels of staleness. - Bright spots this year seem to be Juwan Johnson, Shaheed, Werner and Alonte Taylor. I can't list Olave here because of what we had to give up to get him. - I know how much you guys love Honey Badger and Juice Landry, but I feel like now this team has gotten too old in general, and I can't blame anyone for desiring a full rebuild. I'm almost there with you. |

Dalton throws three picks

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Defense regressed with the use of two DCs. Our DL is arguably worse. No way Davenport gets a new contract. Shoulda kept Ceedy. Honeybadger isn't the Honeybadger of old. Play Shaheed way more. MT is awol yet again. Our OL needs much attention. Looking forward to see our LT coming off of IR.

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Too early to fire DA.
Now, if the "stars" he brought in return to action next week and fail to perform then it's time. As desperate as it sounds to say out loud, this team still has a shot. A small, very very unlikely one - but a shot nonetheless. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Offer Sean Payton whatever he wants.
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
As has been previously said in this post, a lot of us possibly don't want to admit it but it is time to rebuild throughout the whole team!
It would mean some very lean seasons, three at least I think, but that's how it has to be! Panthers have already made some big decisions and we will have to do the same I think! Yes, we still have a chance to get some wins this season but its hard to see where they are going to come from! I'll be happy if the Saints prove me wrong and string a load of wins together in the upcoming games but I'm not holding my breath! Having said all this I still love the Saints and will always support them whatever! Who Dat! |

It all starts up top. A planned reset should have been done a long time ago. I get the intent of drafting of Mahomes was a big part of that, but there needed to be a plan B when that didn't work. Sean Payton is going to go wherever there's a star quarterback or high draft pick set in place for him. What this franchise needs now is a king's ransom worth of draft picks FOR Sean Payton, NOT Sean Payton. I'm not discounting what Loomis has done for this franchise but... he seems to be a glorified accountant. Those can be replaced. We don't need our books cooked, we need a leader leading the franchise. I'd like to see a complete overhaul of our S&C and analytics program. I really like what LSU has done in transitioning their dinosaur S&C training program into a modern, cutting edge type system. We need to do some research and up our game. There's still football. We're still Saints fan. It is what it is. |

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Overall i think the D played pretty well considering our top 3 corners were out (lattimore, adebo, roby), but they were in position to play much better if they could tackle.
|
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss to the Cardinals
Like Fitzgerald said, if you have a Qb throwing interceptions it might as well be Winston. At least when Winston throws one it could just as easily be a TD.
