The NFL wanted every team to suck and be eligible for playoffs with an 8-9 record, very much like hockey. Welcome to today's NFL. Under that standard, we still have a chance, slim as it is. Last year's Bengals made it to the SB with less than a top notch record, didn't they? | |

Re: Observations from the Saints' Loss to the Ravens
To sign a good QB in free agency we will need to get under the cap and then free up even more cap space. This will require signing players like Michael Thomas, Andrus Peat, Jarvis Landy, Tyrann Mathieu, Taysom Hill, Marcus Maye, etc to long term extensions to defer money in return for guaranteeing them more. Loomis will make this happen. That is why we have to fire Loomis.

That is a really good question. I think that since we don't have a good enough draft pick to draft a quarterback that this might be our best option. There's something to be said for a fresh start somewhere else. Look at Drew. However, we don't have that same type of coaching now.

This QB draft will be pretty deep. Maybe if things shake out right Hooker or DTR or another desirable QB will slip into 2nd or 3rd round while Bryce Young and the flavor of the month choices go at the top of the draft.

Lewis has not proven to be a get-over-the-hump coach. The ultimate tease for HC. I'd like to see a Payton/Tomlin type of coach here. Not only cerebral but tough as well.

Yeah but anything would be an improvement over our Meyer/McDaniels/Jackson type of coach and I want to improve immediately.

I was thinking this too. Jalen Hurts slipped to pick 53.

Re: Observations from the Saints' Loss to the Ravens
Just watched the highlights, I'm really glad I didnt stay up (UK time) for that game.
As usual, team looks flat, uninspired and really poorly coached. The throws to the flat by Jackson were an automatic 8+ yards because the defenders were playing so far off. That's not even counting the yardage after the inevitable missed tackle or 3. DA and Loomis let a ton of defensive talent walk and it shows. This team is just poor all around. I'm starting to think we need a full reboot, including some coaching staff members. |
