I wonder if Jordan could appeal this with some federal labor type authorities. I can’t imagine fining a worker for seeking treatment for an injury is legal. OSHA could sanction Goodell and fine him, so not just appeal this fine, fine him!

The NFL thinks they have proof because supposedly Jordan gets up and takes a signal from the sideline before down, but its not nearly that simple if you think about it. Most foot injuries only become fully apparent after getting up and taking a few steps. Maybe step one is ouch, step two is darn i felt that again let me pay more attention, and step three is oh thats not good. Meanwhile what doesna defensive captain do probably every play? Look to the sideline for a signal. So logically the normal experience of a foot injury would usually be to get up and notice the injury while looking to the sideline for a signal on the next play.

The NFL is a dangerous sport and players accept that but the right to seek treatment when injured at work is a very basic right that I dont think players can or should waive. I think Goodell is probably violating some sort of labor law.

I think our best shot is having the NFLPA assert itself and stand up for Jordan and other players who may have legitimate injuries and are in this position to be wrongly accused. NFLPA needs to let the NFL they can't have it both ways with player safety.

The best defense is a good offense. We need to bring the pain to Goodell. The NFL is subject to OSHA regulation. This is the code Goodell and the league office violated. Jordan should file a complaint and then the NFL will be investigated by an authority they didnt choose.

1904.35(b)(1)(iv)
You must not discharge or in any manner discriminate against any employee for reporting a work-related injury or illness.

Jordan reported to a ref, a league employee supervising his work, that he was injured. The league then fined him $50,000.

Having just watched a few World Cup games, the refereeing seems a lot more fair and normal there . And players fake injuries a lot in soccer.

Did you watch the Argentina vs Netherlands game? Oy vey.

If you watch the NFL then you hate Rodger Goodell for ruining the game. Oh, my apologies, I meant to say Roger Goodell ruined the entertainment. The NFL is no longer a sport. I think that's why so many people are tuning out.

You are finally realizing that is a fact. The popularity of the game continues to skyrocket. For every person that claims to have stopped watching two people must be taking their place.

Report: Jessie Bates Fined $50,000 For Faking Injury Against Chiefs

CINCINNATI — The NFL took notice of a certain between-play move Cincinnati pulled against the Chiefs last Sunday.

According to Tom Pelissero, the NFL fined Cincinnati safety Jessie Bates $50,000 for faking an injury late in the first half.

The Chiefs had first and goal at Cincinnati's one-yard line with 3:20 left in the half. That's when Bates went down with an "injury" to help his defense get more substitutions on the field.

He got the same penalty as Saints defensive end Cam Jordan for faking an injury this past Monday against the Buccaneers.

The NFL sent a memo to teams about punishments for faking injuries on Dec. 2. Bates allegedly wasn't able to sell his well enough.
