I wonder if Jordan could appeal this with some federal labor type authorities. I can’t imagine fining a worker for seeking treatment for an injury is legal. OSHA could sanction Goodell and fine him, so not just appeal this fine, fine him! The NFL thinks they have proof because supposedly Jordan gets up and takes a signal from the sideline before down, but its not nearly that simple if you think about it. Most foot injuries only become fully apparent after getting up and taking a few steps. Maybe step one is ouch, step two is darn i felt that again let me pay more attention, and step three is oh thats not good. Meanwhile what doesna defensive captain do probably every play? Look to the sideline for a signal. So logically the normal experience of a foot injury would usually be to get up and notice the injury while looking to the sideline for a signal on the next play. The NFL is a dangerous sport and players accept that but the right to seek treatment when injured at work is a very basic right that I dont think players can or should waive. I think Goodell is probably violating some sort of labor law. |
