Observations from the Saints' Win vs Falcons

It's a win. A win is a win. Did I say it was a win?

Messy game but in the end ... It was a win.

Slim... Extremely slim playoff chances alive , still somehow.

Landry continues the dropsies. Juwan Johnson continues to improve as a TE.

Let's see what happens as the season nears its end.

Do either 3Quan Smith or M. Calloway still play for the Saints?

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win vs Falcons

* We swept the Falcons!

* Good to have Werner back but he looked alittle rusty. With the emergence of Kaden Ellis we all of a sudden got 3 really solid LBs.

* Juwan Johnson is becoming what we all have wished for at the TE position. And he still have quite a ways to go to reach his ceiling.

* Glad we finally got a TO but we really are making it hard for ourselves.

* Still too many penalties.

* I saw Penning body a guy on the play right after the turnover.

* D-line isn't playing cohesive football. It looks like they are all running different plays at the same time.

* We got two tremendous rookie WRs. Just tons of big play potential.

“ The all-time record for the series is currently tied at 54–54, after the Saints victory on December 18, 2022.”

Re: Observations from the Saints' Win vs Falcons

They tried to give it away at the end, with Dalton taking a sack at the five and the fumbled snap.

A rookie RB slashed our defense for 150 yards

Offense looked great in the first half, not as good in the second.

Alontae Taylor let a pick six go right through his hands. And they called a BS PI on him later.

Overall better play calling

Think we can get anything for Michael Thomas at this point?

HAPPY that we got the win. NOT HAPPY about how close we came to losing.

Was able to listen to most of the Saints game. Glad we held on.

We won and the rest of the NFC South lost. Another day in paradise LOL.

Watched that second half of CIN vs TB and there were some pretty prominent "Who Dey" chants going in Tampa. Warms my heart!

Glad we won. Even in a bad year, sweeping Atlanta is a highlight.

Should not have been close. But it was and we're still a bad team.

Pray that Eagles beat Cowboys and rest starters in week 17. But they won't since a higher draft pick is on the line.

Goose is cooked.

I'm glad Juwan Johnson is a RFA this off season.

-The Bucs, Falcons and Panthers are going to be bad again next year. With luck on health and improvement at DT, S and backup RB, the Saints could dominate.

Kareem Hunt and Samaje Perine are free agents next year.

Anybody else observe Brady's body language? Start paying attention! You can actually "SEE" who's going to win!! Same thing with the Colts at Vikings, the Colts captain looked "BEATEN" during the Overtime Coin Toss, whilst the Viking Captain was lose, laughing and smiling. Welcome to the NFL (Noteal Football League)

Brady had the same deflated body language in the last game against the Saints but the Saints don't seem to have the guts to smell blood in the water and go for the kill.

Shaheed getting his chances and showing up has been one of the few bright spots this season.

He's been electrifying, especially on deep routes.

Indeed. Great job by the staff in finding him, signing him, and coaching him up. Taylor and Olave are other examples of their success. We shall see on Penning.

This weekend was full of examples of truly bad calls that even with pretty telling video to change the call NYC /Goodell hell tight. All these ref assisted calls change the outcome of the game.

It’s beyond BS at this strange of game with the technology available to make sure the right call is made. That it has not changed all clearly gotten worse is an indictment of the NFL/Goodell/Owners approving of the current status of officiating.

SP forced a change briefly to enable teams to challenging and review of all PI calls they did not overturn a single PI call during the one season it was in place. Then used their inaction in not overturning PI after the season to dropped the PI Challenge.

Probably not a whole lot since it would have to be a team that could take the cap hit for us.

I believe it's us that would be taking the cap hit if we for some reason chose to trade him. $25.452 million in dead cap.

I was under the impression that the other team could pick that up too? I might be wrong but didn't the Browns do something like that a couple years back?

I would think a team would have to be pretty desperate to take on a 25 million contract and an injured player who has not played but a few games in the last 3 years now.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. So, you just never know what a team will do. Especially the Browns.

Nope. Dead cap is the accounting for monies already spent in terms of bonuses and such. It is already on the team's books and cannot be transferred. Team can, however, negotiate the future base pay, but that already goes with the player to the new team. The trading team can, and has, agreed to cover part of that pay to move the player. That's not what you were hoping. I believe that's what you were thinking about in that Browns deal. Was it with the Texans, perhaps? It was a QB.

Okay. Found what I was thinking about.

Texans trade Brock Osweiler, 2018 second-round pick to Browns

The Texans were trying to dump future guaranteed salary, not dead cap.

Yeah that was the trade I was thinking about I just remembered the details wrong.

Too bad we won’t have a halfway decent Qb until about the they decide to go all Michael Thomas on us. At least one of those guys are going to go straight Diva. Bank on it.

I won't bet his salary, but I'll bet you something more reasonable. What do you define as "somebody"?

When he returned this year he managed three TD's in two games.

At that price, or any price for that matter, I'd define "somebody" as somebody that can play a whole season. As a fan, I don't show up to watch just two games.
