Sure, but you never know until later. San Diego thought they'd made the right decision at the time, too. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Davenport should watch some of Trey's tape.
Looking at the Bengals today, notice how well the O line (injured throughout 2022) have been protecting Joe Cool.

Injuries happen to ALL teams but GOOD DEPTH is key.

Saints need to observe and implement.

100%.

I think I heard Cincy are missing their starting Center and RG for this game and yet the Bills have been bullied right off the line of scrimmage.

Good coaches and depth can make up for injuries, that's why I never really agree with injuries being used as excuses.

It really depends upon what else you have to overcome those injuries, don't you think. I would think that having Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon, and a guy named Joe Burrow at QB had to have helped. I'll bet if we had that crew we could have weathered some offensive line injuries quite well.

I am pretty sure no one felt that Hendrickson would not produce on the next contract, which he got at Cincy. It's more a matter of what the Saints thought they had in Davenport , the two number ones it took to get him,
and what they invested overall in P Turner and Davenport. If ones removes those two picks, which one could argue should not have been made , Hendrickson is so easily affordable . The very same decision exists Granderson. He's a rising star just like Hendrickson was. And the Saints need to keep him.

Now to really play 20/20, just who could the Saints have drafted in lieu of Davenport and Turner?

Oh absolutely yeah having those guys is a game changing event.
My main point though, is that despite injuries to that O line, the backup players have still come in for the Bengals are playing like starters and have flat out bullied the Bills D line.

Lol here's some that stand out to me instead of Davenport, that were all taken after him.

Lamar Jackson, Leighton Vander-esch, DJ Moore, Fred Warner, Nick Chubb.

Yes they did. But it does helps when you have a QB that knows where to go quickly. Andy ain't that. LOL! It keeps that defense on its heels.
