Re: Observations from the Saints Win vs Eagles
Sucks. Been a tough year for me. Moved out to the middle of BFE 45 min away from the nearest gas station or any kind of civilization. The only people I have contact with are four coworkers and the occasional guest. Big culture shock and lifestyle adjustment. The Saints having a good year would have gone a long way towards helping me adjust. Hell even seeing improvement or a positive sign of things to come would have helped…
That being said, who were the bright spots this year? Who has developed or surprised. I really haven’t had the time to keep up. I know Olave is a beast, any surprises? |

Add Olave and Penning to that mix, despite his injury.

I don’t remember his name, but the kid from Tulane impressed me.

Re: Observations from the Saints Win vs Eagles
I am happy we won. Dennis Allen is probably better than he was with the Raiders. I hope we win next week. But we really need to face the music this offseason, focus on unloading bad contracts, not trading future picks, and cleaning up our salary cap to give our young core a chance in 2024 and beyond. We may have the talent to make the playoffs in 2023 but we dont have the talent and cap space to go all the way while carrying albatross contracts like Peat and Thomas. We need to cut them no matter how big the cap hit. If they want to evaluate Dennis Allen further. Give him some adversity by using any cap we can generate to get out of those bad contracts not add more aging injury prone vets, and see if he can still coach scrappy like the panthers and falcons did this year and win some games while rebuilding a bit.
Also Gardner Minshew is not as good as Andy Dalton. We are better off drafting a mid round qb and hoping to strike gold than paying $15-20m/yr for known mediocrity. |
