Comparing Thomas to Colston? Cmon. They are nothing alike. Colston was a hard working, team first player that was always reliable and seldomly injured. He was quiet on the field and off. He let his game do the talking for him. He was humble and classy. He had heart and that’s what drove him.

Michael Thomas is a loud, egotistical show off. He flexes every time he catches the ball, has been seen arguing with staff and players, and doesn’t seem one bit humble. His reliability on and off the field has been sub par in the past several seasons. Money and ego drive Thomas.

He may be a hard worker, but that’s where the comparison ends.

I’ll take Colston all day over a healthy MT. All day.

MT should never be compared to Colston. Ever.
I was going to say much the same thing but I would be argumentative.

Naw Boston,

Say as you feel, this is a discussion forum & no player is exempt from scrutiny.

Not sure which Michael Thomas you've been watching, but when has he ever been loud and was an egotistical show-off? Have you ever watched his interviews? He is ALWAYS soft-spoken and unassuming. That's the Colston comparison I was making. That and he is every bit as hardworking as Colston ever was. Does he flex after a big play? Sure. What's wrong with that? And when has he been seen arguing with staff and players? His only issues were all centered around that one incident with that slimeball Gardner-Johnson at practice.

Besides, there isn't any player that hasn't had an argument at one point or another with a teammate or coach. It's all a part of the game. Ask any player that has played the game for any length of time.

If money is what drives Thomas why has he agreed to restructured "prove it" contracts? But, I will agree that ego is a driving force for Thomas. He has always said he has worked so hard his entire football career because he wanted to be the best. He says he knew working harder than anyone else was the only way that could be accomplished.

Colston and Thomas are the two WR's that have made the biggest impacts in Saints history. Both have a quiet, unassuming nature in all interviews. Both are known as being diligent workers in mastering their craft. Both are highly regarded by their teammates.

I will give you the fact that Colston was far more fortunate when it came to injuries. He had his share with pectoral, knee, back, AC joint, and foot sprains, but they didn't cost him as many games as the more serious injuries with which Thomas had been forced to deal.

I'm just glad MT is back on the field leading the deepest roster of WR’s we’ve had since the Colston, Moore, Henderson, & Meachem days. Thomas, Olave, Shaheed, and Edwards/Washington sounds great to me. Time to prove the doubters wrong Carr.

Michael Thomas is soft spoken due to a chronic vocal cord injury. He will be very loud this season. He isn't ready to raise his voice yet but optimistic doctors say he will be ready in a few months if there are not any further setbacks.

Thomas agreed to be paid $10-15 million on a 'prove it' deal because it was not clear that any other team was willing to pay him $5 million. Odell Beckham Jr is a similar case and went unsigned for months. And Odell Beckham Jr has played 26 games (regular and postseason) the last 3 years while Thomas has played less than half that at 12 games. Michael Thomas did not truly agree to a prove-it deal because that would imply he took less money than he could get on the open market in order to load up on incentives. In reality 2/3rds of Michael Thomas' deal is not incentive based and there is no evidence any team would have offered him half what the Saints did. Michael Thomas took the best offer he could have got including a small bit of incentives. The reason the Saints offered Michael Thomas more than any other team would is that we needed to retain him and restructure his contract to avoid the cap hit from void years and deferred bonuses in his existing contract, in order to defer that money even further. What deferring the money further means is that even if Michael Thomas plays zero games and spends the entire season in strip clubs in a Falcons jersey, Loomis will be inclined to give him another 'prove it' extension so defer that money again. Otherwise the Saints eat $18 million dead cap in 2024. Thomas does not need to play football to be a Saint for life. He has approval to work remotely.

Check out the guy's Twitter handle, @Breesoverrated.

Last I checked the Bills player didn't have surgery.
