20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
Most of these are questions we all have. |
Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
After another disappointing season, there's plenty of questions to ask for the Saints over the next several months.
JOHN HENDRIX 20 MINUTES AGO The Saints are officially in offseason mode, and we wonder what 2023 is going to hold for the black and gold. New Orleans has a lot of questions to answer over the next several months, and we've assembled 20 of the most pressing ones for Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis. Some will be answered sooner rather than later, but most we'll have to wait and see how they play out. 20 Offseason Questions for the Saints What coaching changes, if any, get made? Who will be the quarterback in 2023? Will the team lose any assistants or front office staff to other teams? What does the future hold for players like Jameis Winston, Andrus Peat, Demario Davis, and Cam Jordan? Where does Sean Payton end up, and what compensation will the Saints receive if he's traded? How exactly will the Saints tackle their $40-45 million salary cap overage? What players will be in line for restructures or potential contract extensions? Will the Saints use the franchise tag on any of their players? What positions will the Saints pursue in free agency? What gems will the team uncover in the Senior Bowl? What happens with Michael Thomas? Will players like Kaden Elliss, David Onyemata, or Marcus Davenport get re-signed ahead of the new league year? What restricted free agents will the team tender? How competitive will the Saints be in free agency? How will the team tackle the draft? What will the fate of Alvin Kamara be regarding his legal case? How will players like Cesar Ruiz and Trevor Penning rebound coming off their Lisfranc injuries? What's the vision for the secondary in having Paulson Adebo, Marshon Lattimore, and Alontae Taylor? Will any surprise cuts or trades happen over the next few months? Which second-year players will have heavier roles in the new season? Where do players who got injured in training camp like D'Marco Jackson fit in? |
Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
BakoSaint … Fire the Owner
Solution Fire the front office Fire Sean Peyton … doesn’t matter if he’s gone fire him anyway. Fire the entire coaching staff Release the entire practice squad Cut all the starters offense and defense Cut the 2023 draft class before OTA’s Problems solved get new everything and it will get better before 2029. Warning Satire Alert !!!! |

Well Loomis has said that they are looking for "stability" among the staff, so that means no underachieving coaches are being shown the door.

Sounds to me like someone is holding responsibilities that should be DA's. If Loomis or someone else is making these decisions, they need to be shown the door too. |
Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
I for one am expecting a banner year for the Saints. We're going to stay healthy, have a second year of continuity, and add a final few pieces through the draft and free agency to walk away with the NFC South. After that, it's anyone's game!

What type of organization brings back a career .283 winning percentage HC & has mishandled so many aspects of the 2022 season? "Keep doing what you're doing". They've set the bar LOW in New Orleans. Just watch how this plays out in 2023 Diz. INSANITY |

Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
For all the talk about Dennis Allen's past history as a head coach let's not forget that in his first year with the Saints as head coach he managed more wins than any previous year by a good margin with a roster that was decimated by key injuries. Let's also not forget that the coach that many feel is worth multiple 1st round picks (Sean Payton) failed to lead his team to more victories in a single season than Allen accomplished in 2022-23 on FOUR separate occasions (2007, 2014, 2015, 2016).
Just sayin'. :D Back to the wallowing in self pity. ;) |

Problem is with Loomis free draft giveaway they've given away our second rounder in 2024 |

Marcus Williams and Trey Hendrickson should still be on this team. We hit the jackpot considering where we drafted them and yet they walked away and we got zero compensation. |

They need rid of these stupid void years and constant restructures on so many players Saints Dead cap 2022 33ml 2021 49ml A d it's not like they've even been clearing the books like Atlanta did last year. It's just constant mismanagement to keep the gang together for another run. It's essentially lead to losing good young players to sign slightly cheaper older vets like last year |

Gave Peat such a bad contract tbey have to keep restructuring it to get under the cap meaning g you have to keep pricing yourself out of keeping him. The front office reminds me of those scouting/management teams in all sorts of sports that begins to believe its own hype about how clever they are at cap/scouting and end up just messing everything up. |

Losing good players because of cap mismanagement. Exactly. |
Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
On the subject of coaches, the Falcons have requested to interview Ryan Nielsen.
FWIW, this is for a Def coordinator position. |

I honestly didn't expect to lose to Sam Darnold (43 total passing yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions) at home, to close out this "promising" season... which, with or without my expectation, is probably the worst outcome imaginable. But here we are, celebrating more poorly-coached, dismal, inconsistent performances next year, while watching other teams in the Playoffs (Playoffs?!?!? Playoffs?!?!? You kiddin me?!?!?) I'm actually very healthy, thank God. |

I sincerely wish for you to enjoy the championship-caliber, well-coached teams in the Playoffs, (we DO after all, love the game of Football at the core), and a nice off-season, and any possible OFF-seasons we may have to endure as fans, under this (mis)management. Honestly. |

Meanwhile the Niners advance with a rookie @ QB.
Shanahan really knows how to get the most out of QB. Nothing in his coaching style says “game manager”. 505 yards of total offense today. I hope the Saints coaches are taking notes. |
Re: 20 Questions We Have for the Saints in the Offseason
Shoutout to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In one season Doug Pederson has taken his team to the postseason and won. Just imagine what he could have done with the Saints roster in 2022/23 but apparently "continuity" was more important than winning games . |
