Let’s agree to disagree
I've seen no indication of that. What exactly makes you believe that? He tried his very best to play through the first injury. The team shot him up to keep playing until it got so bad he wasn't able to go any further. He then took other doctor's advice to see if rehab alone would work with his injury. When it didn't he agreed to have surgery. There were complications (most likely infection) that required a second surgery. He then worked his ass off to come back and looked great until the accident on field that dislocated the toe requiring yet another surgery after the team's getting the initial diagnoses wrong. From all indications he has been rehabbing to return yet again.

He has missed no game that he was physically able to play and played several that he probably shouldn't have played. It sounds to me like he has a ton of heart.

Yet, I'll agree to disagree.

But, you forget to mention that he refused to return phone calls from the medical staff, coaches, or front office.

I still have a problem with him not returning calls from medical staff, coaches, or front office when he was supposed to be having his original surgery. It left a sour taste in my mouth.

What are the chances that how it was portrayed through social media may not be what actually went down? I'd say close to 100% knowing the accuracy of social media and fans.

You say he didn't return calls "when he was supposed to be having his original surgery". Having surgery is ultimately up to the player, not the team. During the period of time he "allegedly" didn't return calls surgery was not yet the decided option. It was, however, the option that became the viral wishes of lots of fans that wanted him back as soon as possible. No plan for surgery was made until after the non-surgical approach was exhausted. That was when off-season contact with the players was underway.
