The further removed we are from Sean Payton, the clearer mistakes become.
I'm not saying they were all on SP, just that there are many more than I realized at the time. |

Ultimately as the HC, they are. Same for the non calls which could have been avoided if he knows the rule book better .

What rule was that? How many times has it been used? Has it ever been used by any Hall of Fame head coach before Belichick used it? One would think that any other coach that has never used it must suck as badly as Sean Payton, right?

Watching the 2006 team vs eagles in playoffs. Can still remember this and the feelings like yesterday. Loved this team and the game. Little more than a decade later I hated the game, the team, and the players.

I'll happily take him as head coach right now. I'm not even really sure if I'm being sarcastic or not.

Re: Spags wins 3rd SB as d-coord
Spags defense gave up 35 points in Super Bowl 57, the most by a winning team in Super Bowl history. That defensive performance would likely have lost all 56 previous Super Bowls, as no team won giving up that many points before. Clearly he is a passable defensive coordinator on the right team, good enough to be a game manager of the defense and get it through with the type of gentleman's C's that will be good enough with the best QB in the game and the best play caller in the game lighting up the offense. But overall, Spags is a guy who was there and got a free ring. He is a Trent Dilfer of defensive coordinators.

![]() Elite players/elite coaching, KC will always have a shot at winning. Even with a middle-of-the-road DC like Spaggs. But hey I give him credit, he is finding a way. You can't deposit excuses if you want those Lombardi's ![]() |
