Carr vs opposing QBs in 2023. Is Carr better than most?
Six games against the NFC South. Four games against the AFC South (possibly Lawrence is better) Four games against the NFC North (maybe Cousins. Rodgers I expect to be gone) Rams - Stafford looks done Giants - Carr is equal or better than D. Jones Patriots - Carr is better than M. Jones Most likely f those games the Saints will have the better defense and skill players. Just need a RB and healthy Thomas to win 12+ games | |

Re: New Orleans Saints signing quarterback Derek Carr to four-year deal
Mixed feelings. As far as character and leadership Carr is 100% what we need. It's a big back-loaded contract though and we risk some serious buyer's remorse post 2023. The whole thing feels a bit like the Vikings/Cousins deal - overpaying for a stable second-tier QB.
I'd also love to see a comparison on the deal that he had with the Raiders versus the one we just signed him to, and which one will eventually pay Carr more. Regardless, I bet the old contract was a no-go due to our limited cap space. I still think we should draft a QB and groom him for the future, with Taysom and Derek certainly two good guys to learn from. Getting a Bridgewater or Dalton etc. seems redundant. |

Carr may allow Pete Carmichael to open up the play book and we'll see an exciting offense again. Someone tell DA to take the blinders off Pete and let him play to win.

But Carr definitely has the ability to stretch the field, something Dalton lacked horribly. |
