I've heard the very top of the DT pool is strong, but it falls off fast and has little depth. Maybe that's why they are so intent on addressing it in free agency.

Hopefully, we get an impact DT in round one. If not, find a role player to rotate with our starters in the middle rounds and concentrate on guard, and WR/TE in the early rounds.

Same philosophy as years past... allows them to do BPA... not that it mattered when moving up for players like Marcus Davenport and Mark Ingram.

Man... we sure could have used those extra number ones!

I doubt a couple of lower 1st rounders seven years apart would have made of a difference in the scheme of things.

Shows what we know, huh? When Tuttle, Onyemata and even Davenport left I thought the front office had lost their collective minds. Like K Major said:

This D-line is one of the best in the league.

OK. Our biggest need has to be O line! Either that or a new QB that is mobile and doesn't require any sort of blocking to look good....if he's out there. Otherwise, I'm back to fixing the O line.

Re: DT Our Biggest Need?

Coaching is our biggest need. Quality coaches with career winning percentages well over .300 are available on the street. There is no salary cap for coaches. I think we need to look at OC and/or OL coach now. Oline is definitely an issue too but the ability to fix it by adding players in season is limited, and the adjustments our coaches have made are not working. If Allen does not want to look at new assistants now, fine, we need to look at HC midseason then if we don't beat teams better than Tennessee (who just lost 28-3 to the Browns).

Re: DT Our Biggest Need?

DT is not a need anymore. Although, I would invest early and often in the O line. Oh yeah, we might want to look at a new O line coach too.
