Did y'all notice we took most of the clock before making the call to Bresee? I think Bresee was definitely who they wanted, but they probably took a few calls from other teams wondering about moving back into the 1st round. I don't think they were willing to take the chance of losing out on Bresee. The late research I've done on him points to him being a perfect fit in terms of need, talent, style of play, and character.
Love the pick! |

Re: Official 2023 Saints Draft Thread
I like that Bresee was home watching the draft with family. Probably means nothing but to me it’s a better optic than getting all dressed up to go sit and wait around for 4+ hours to hear the POS Commissioner call your name in that clown show.
Side note, did people see that BS with Philly’s second pick? Some chumps come out and spend 5 minutes to flip a fake coin? Luckily I had sound off. |

Re: Official 2023 Saints Draft Thread
I was initially against spending a first rounder on him mainly because of the injury history, but after digging a little more I read that it was back in 2021. Since then it seems to have healed fine. I listened to an interview with him this morning and he claims he’s 100% healthy and no lingering issues, so I feel much better about the pick. If he stays healthy and improves with good coaching, he’ll be a really good player for us. I love that he’s really good against the run because we need it, especially now that Bijan is in the division.

Lots of quality is still available tonight. Maybe a trade-up? |
