I was chatting with a person from France this weekend. They mentioned that the Fleur-de-lis, while certainly historical for them, isn’t displayed as much in France as it is Quebec, Montreal, and New Orleans.

Sadly, my family is not represented by any crests of any kind, let alone one adorned with a FDL, even though I was born very near the Eiffel Tower. I do have , on the other hand, some lovely Mignon Faget FDL glasses, water and wine, and also period antique table cloths . Also my wife has a very special and beautiful Hermes lady scarf, Louis XIV, that is filled with them; we have it framed in our home since it's too pretty to wear. |

This whole thing is kind of pointless. Like 10 teams chose Mexico. Some teams chose lots of countries. Maybe Europe will get into football but if they do they will want their own team. And by that time 10 other NFL teams will pick France too. This is about as realistic as thinking Paris St Germaine games in FIFA are going to become a big event in Louisiana.
Since this is ridiculous anyway I think Green Bay should pick Greenland and the Vikings should pick all the Nordic Countries and Iceland. Its crappy of the NFL to show Taiwan as a part of China on their map. Typical corporate move. |

Our family is associated with a coat of arms that includes two fleur de lis. The name was supposedly brought to England in 1066 by the Normand-French invaders. |
