I get Drew Brees vibes from Derek Carr. They both process information rapidly and read defenses well at the line of scrimmage. They both take command of the huddle, work hard to earn their team mates respect, spending tireless hours in the film room, and spending valuable time with his receivers developing chemistry.

They both have a quick release and are good at the check downs when necessary. Both are evasive in the pocket while being somewhat mobile. Both can throw into a tight window well. Both have/had the ability to go deep.

Both are vocal yet quiet leaders that people gravitate to. Both are good Christians with a strong belief in family values who are raising well behaved children who are married to beautiful clean wholesome looking women.

Yes, I feel good about Derek Carr. It looks like it could be a seamless transition for Derek Carr who also efficiently runs the WCO.

According to this data Derek Carr was 2nd in the league in percentage of accurate throws to open receivers in 2022.

Not to mention he has never had better than the 20th ranked defense in the league on his side. Even Brees couldn't win more than 7 games in a season when he had the same.
