Kendre Miller due to Kamara's likely suspension
Andrew Dowell due to lack of LBs!

That would be cool. It's going to be tough getting playing time with Johnson, Moreau, Hill, and Jesse James all ahead of him on the depth chart coming into camp. That's a lot of experience and TD's scored to leap frog. :D

Dowell will be in competition for one of the two backup spots behind Davis and Werner, for sure this year. I know the team is really high on D'Marco Jackson who we drafted last year and Anfernee Orji, who we picked up as a UDFA this year. Both seem real intriguing. Not sure where Baun, Sewall, Summers, and the Tulane rookie, Nick Anderson come into play. We'll see come training camp with real pads and contact. We have practices scheduled now with both the Chargers and the Texans.

Trevor Penning aka "nasty baby". If he's completely healed from turf toe, watch out.

I'm going to go with breakout player of the season since OTA/TC is so heavily regulated.

Lattimore
Penning

Despite starting the first game poorly I think Penning will clean up and be a solid LT by the end of this years Championship run.:chug:

Right now, Shaheed looks like a safe bet for the Saints breakout player after the first game. Honorable mention- Juwan Johnson.

Derek Carr MVP.

He might be able to bench press a lot and run ok in a straight line and dunk a basketball and do back flips but he gets beat around the edge. But I dont know how much that is technique and footwork and how much of that is just his achilles heel as an otherwise great athlete. Some things like use of hands and not getting fooled by pass rushers moves are obviously technique while pure physical measureables may be inherent athleticism but I am not sure where this combination of footwork, lateral speed, and getting beat around the edge falls.

And exactly where and from whom did you hear that assessment? I'd be very interested to hear or read that myself. I'd make sure to share it with everyone else, as well!

Thanks in advance!
