It’s all too common for me to see a fight go from 1 on 1 to 1 vs 5 or 3 vs 3 in an instant. It just doesn’t move the needle for me or any of the people around me. It’s truly on the opposite end of the spectrum in regards to perspective on the situation. As far as him getting off easy because he’s an athlete, I’m not really bothered by that either. At that point it would just be jealousy on my part. We all know the rules change depending on socioeconomic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. The court decisions involving athletes is at the very bottom of my equality/equity totem pole.
Fair enough. I understand and respect both viewpoints. Certainly his actions don’t amount to what Sharper’s actions were. Plus I’ll be the first to say that football is by its nature a violent sport. It’s not surprising that the people who play it at the highest level have a sense of violence in them.
