That type of quarterback and his running style , how many have won Super Bowls ?? You can argue Steve Young , some say he was , some say he inherited Joe Montana\'s team and a monkey could have run it . That type of mobile quarterback has always seemed to come up short in my mind , Tarkenton with the Vikings and Elway in his younger years .While the ever present pocket passers bring home the gold year in and year out .

Brooks - At it again

Potential. Interesting word. A word that\'s full of promise not delivered. That\'s Brooks.
Yadda, Yadda, Yadda......
I am so sick of hearing about Brooks\' potential. Potential he hasn\'t delivered on yet. Maybe he will, more than likely, he won\'t. As for him being a stud, make that a potential stud, please.

I think Brooks\' performance when Blake broke his leg was an anomaly. He ended that season in glorious fashion, but that was it. When given the starting job last year, he didn\'t deliver. He hasn\'t yet delivered this year and he probably won\'t. Based on what I\'ve seen so far this preseason, he\'s poorly prepared, doesn\'t know the offense and is only interested in Aaron Brooks, Superstar.

\"It\'s my competitive nature. When I throw the ball, I think I have to catch it, too.\" He went on to say too many players weren\'t doing their jobs, that\'s why he played so poorly last year and threw all those pics. A real sign of maturity, blaming others for your mistakes. I keep remembering watching the offense go 3 and out last year, and Brooks walking off laughing. Or walking off laughing after throwing an interception. Or just walking off after throwing another interception.

It\'s time to face reality, guys. Brooks is not the man. He has not been the man. He will not be the man. He is turning into the personification of the clubhouse lawyer. He is a negative influence on the team. He is not a leader. He is a spoiled child who only wants more toys ($$$$) to play with.

He needs to quit crying about Griese\'s contract, Fiedler\'s contract and Michael Vick\'s contract. He needs to quit crying about his contract. He needs to concentrate on playing the game and doing his job. If he does well, he\'ll be in a position to get the kind of contract he wants. If he does poorly, he\'ll get the contract he deserves. In either case, management should sit tight and see how he develops...If Brooks is lucky, his game will develop as quickly as his mouth has and he\'ll be a new millionaire. If not, oh well.

I found it rather amusing to hear, Someone who believes Brooks is all he claims to be right now is suffering from post Billy Joe syndrome . It has been so long since they have seen anyone with any potential , that they believe any potential equals greatness .
