DA got a win and we stayed healthy. That's a really good start to preseason after beating KC when we were ready to call it a day before getting a late turnover

But the coaches who coached them will also coach the players who are on the field. And the scouts who recruited them will recruit free agents we need to fill in for injuries. Everything has meaning, some things mean less, but it means something. A horrible performance by the 3rd string also means the 2nd string can rest on their laurels and still make the team, and Peat can keep affordinng to clean out little debbie warehouses and fill his swimming pool with nesquik.

Jerry Rice’s career catch percent was 62%. Chase was going to be a bust due to preseason drops. Its always better to make the catch but it takes a large sample size to reach any definitive conclusions. The best we know about Olave is his rookie year. AT Perry looked good. It would be nice if we can roster anyoung player with upside over the journeymen and tqs.

A quick observation on the Chiefs game ...

Did anyone notice how Spagg's defended Michael Thomas around the red zone (Baldy touched on it briefly in that clip)? I saw a couple of guys running with him, leaving Kirkwood open on the post, and subsequent TD.

Teams putting double coverage on Mike, leaving one on one matchups with speedsters Olave and Rashid. That's a tall order. Someone is getting open & we have a QB who can make those throws.

Again, I like what I saw from Perry. He could become a guy who will consistently move the yardsticks (Lance Moore comes to mind) & keep critical drives alive. Confidence building.

Can't wait for the Charger practices & p/s game #2.
