I'm going with best available to us and I'm going to assume other big names aren't interested in what I assume is a short term deal? I'm guessing.

This and the money. Cook signed for one year at 8 million.

I really don’t think we need a big name RB just so we have someone for 3 weeks. I think this signing is best. A backup RB that can spell someone.

I never understood why we even looked at Hunt. Waste of money.

Re: Any thoughts on Darrel Williams signing?

It all depends upon whether Williams is vested or not. If vested then he gets paid for the full 17 games whether he's only needed for the first three. The same would be true for any vested veteran if signed prior to week one of the regular season. He came into the league in 2018. A player becomes vested after accruing four years. He had two partial years so may not be vested. That would make him more attractive to a team only needing him for three games. They can cut him after three weeks with no further commitment.

I don’t see the contract value listed but His biggest contract ever (per season) was just under 1.6 million. That’s Way below the 7 million Cook signed and the 6 million Elliot signed. At that price the dollars really don’t matter much.

We need to save money for signing some LB and OL help. This guy seems to be a perfect fit for the situation. And he’s cheaper.

We might be ok at LB. I am really worried about O-line depth though.
