On Nick's last podcast, he used the word "inconsistent" a bit when describing the new guy. If he starts shanking em, he won't last very long. What's crazy on Blake is that 2 seasons ago, he was considered one of the best punters in the league. Fast forward to now, he's fallen off badly. |

Looks like Sean building a football team :beatnik:
Will the Saints be the Farm Team for the rest of the league again  |
Re: Lutz trades to SP
He might even be a better kicker in the mile high stadium. Thin air helps the ball travel farther. Although, if you've ever kicked a ball in cold weather it doe feel like kicking a big rock.

Re: Lutz trades to SP
If Grupe does what he did in training camp and works on his long kicks over 60 yards I won't miss Lutz too much.

Re: Lutz trades to SP
I like giving the kid a chance. Here's hoping he sets a league record for extra points. 😁

Re: Lutz trades to SP
I wonder if Grupe and Headley were each others holders in training camp. Honestly the punter battle was so close that it could come down to skill/familiarity as a holder. Also, if Hill is going to be our gameday #2 QB not Winston with the new rule, that could change some dynamics if either of them were the preferred holder for anyone else. It's best if everyone is on the same page.

Re: Lutz trades to SP
I believe Headley will be on a short leash.
He didn't exactly light it up at training camp or in preseason games. My guy Blake G just had too many 20-yard shanks  . I cannot emphasize enough how critical special teams play & field position will become down the stretch. |
