Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
Their QBs are serviceable but not upper tier. The reality is that the NFL is not a league of elite teams and lesser teams. All games no matter what we think are typically close anyway. That's what RG and the owners really want. Even last year for us, we could've won a few more games had the special teams come through. At the end of the day the Saints are a better team that last year, IMHO. The Titans are too, probably. I think we have a bit of an advantage as they have no idea what the D Carr iteration of this offense will unearth, especially with a healthy MT, a better overall WR/TE corps really. The same old precept holds true, the team that commits the least number of mistakes will probably come out on top.

Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
Hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere but blockzilla (Trequan Smith) had surgery last month & is expected to be out several weeks.

Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
I am sure he will be placed on IR soon, I would also not be surprised if Miller lands there too.

Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
See reply above. They are not going to use IR unless it is absolutely necessary because of the limited number of recalls available. They brought this up last year concerning a couple of players that weren't placed on IR.

![]() Promote someone (special teamer/LB) who can actually help you on next Sun. Jaylon Smith comes to mind. Titans are a old school Power I running type team. We need to clog up as many run lanes as possible. Henry only needs a crease and he's off. |

Saints will be lucky to have him back in the rotation by early October. Sean F (or maybe it was John H) wrote an article stating that "if" "Trequan misses this year opener, it will be the third consecutive season that he has missed wk 1 because of an injury". Best ability is availability. |

Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
Logically because they expect him to be back sooner than week five. Also, don't forget there is a limit to how many players you can recall from IR. You don't want to use those on a WR5 when you may need them for a starter later.

Re: Week One: Titans @ Saints
If they deem him ready, yes. 4-2-5 will definitely continue to show our deficiencies in stopping the run game. We need to find a good balance here. It's unfortunate injuries zapped Jaylon's athleticism but his football IQ alone should be able to help us. But who knows, maybe the light turns on for Baun like it did for Elliss last season.
