Some homeless are a constant presence at a certain street corner, but that does not mean their presence is adding value. Could he be the the best receiver on our team for a stretch if everyone else is hurt? I guess. But what will that get us, a lower draft pick? We ain't winning anything with Smith as our #1.

If we want to stop having injuries as an excuse, we need to stop reserving roster spots for marginal players who get hurt every year. If we want to continue having injuries as a convenient excuse for losing, Smith is fulfilling duties asked of him from his coaching staff better than any other WR brought in over the years.
Show me a Saints WR who has been healthier or played more games during that span. He has been the most “available” WR on the team since he joined. That’s a fact.
