It's hard to put too much blame on playcalling when plays are getting blown up before they can take place.

Kay has this right!

If she wants to come to a game I guess I could leave my wife at home and Kay can use the ticket.

:D

Or not.

I’ll make a similar observation as after game one; Some like to put a negative spin on a W. Are there problems, sure. Are there things that need working on, absolutely! Have we played well enough to be 2-0…Hell Yeah.

One of my happy moments in this game was seeing Andy Dalton come into the game and was not in a Saints uniform.

When others were doubting we would win at all, I reiterated I still thought we would probably win, but I was not happy winning a close game against one of the weakest teams on our easy schedule. Then we won a close game and I said I wasn't impressed. How can I be more consistent here? If we win at all next week I will be impressed because we play a decent team, though if our division rivals continue to win more impressively I will admit it.

We are paying Carr a lot of money and our oline is struggling with everyone healthy and active. It's not a great situation. I don't have your rose glasses. Could the offense all come together? Sure. But so could Carolinas, and Atlanta's could improve more, as could Tampa's. We are spending more 2024 money than any team in the league. Sorry if I am not impressed by beating two sub-.500 caliber teams by a combined 4 points and only being ahead of one team in our division.

It just seems like how badly we beat Carolina vs how badly Atlanta did is a strange barometer to use. Starting with the fact we were on the road at a Monday night crowd and they were in Atl is the first issue. I could delve deeper but you probably aren’t interested in my viewpoint.

Bring in another RB.

Miller has yet to play an NFL game, Williams (hamstrings can linger for months) is dealing with a sore hamstring and our star RB is still on suspension.

I would have kept Merriweather over TJJ.

17 games + the possibility of post season is a grind.

A bit of further info for the Panthers/Falcons game. Here is a link to the team stats:

Carolina had a lead in the game and it was tied in the fourth. Carolina had more first downs, more passing yards, more rushing, yards. What gave Atl the W was a rookie quarterback, playing his first NFL game ever in a hostile crowd turning the ball over.

Tony Jones, Jr had past experience in the Saints offense. Ellis Merriweather is still out there unemployed on nobody's roster OR practice squad. Thirty-one other teams have not picked him up as of yet or signed him to their practice squads so perhaps your evaluation is a tad bit flawed? Just sayin'. ;)

Exactly! Atlanta only managed 221 yards AT HOME against the Carolina defense that we ran up 341 yards against on their home field. Atlanta gave up 281 yards to the Panthers offense while Carolina could only muster 239 against us with a third of that coming on their last possession with the Saints in a time burning "prevent defense".

I don't think it's premature here but maybe I owe Jeff Duncan an apology.

He was spot on when he said Carl Granderson has been playing out of his mind at camp. I see now.

That strip sack & turnover was textbook.

Carl is becoming a serious force off the edge.
