He played in dime packages during the pre-season & Ugo (I really like) in the nickel spot.

I'm certain we will see quite a bit of Howden on Sunday.

Hopefully his replacement for those three games will want to prove a point and do a good job in Mayes absence!

Correct, they knew it when they signed him that he was facing a suspension. This isn't new, and to be honest it could have been worse.

And during a long, 17 game season, having some players take that kind of “rest” can help overall performance. For example, I like the idea of the team being 2-1 or 3-0 with our Pro Bowl breacher of peace not having taken a snap yet. Mayes could likewise benefit from a rest.
