Re: Brock Bowers

I absolutely would not. Only one of the top 7 tight ends of all time by probowl seasons was a 1st round pick. Its statistically the most unpredictable position. On our current offense if we dont spend every pick on oline he would primarily be responsible for chipping the pass rusher every player until they chip him and he is injured. Most tight ends have short careers. Most current star nfl tight ends were not first round picks. Pitts is wasting away on the Falcons as they dream of a day when his contribution may match a top 10-15 receiver, best case scenario chris olave, while they passed on Chase, Waddle, Sewell, Parsons, etc to take him. I hope and pray Bowers is taken as early as possible by one of our division rivals. It will set them back years just as every 1st round pick TE since Tony Gonzalez 26 years ago has. And Tony Gonzalez has 0 rings.

I've watched the guy play since he began at Georgia as a freshman. There has never been anyone like him. He may be the best player in college football and I'm not joking. If we have a chance to get him, there is no way we let that pass. He will be better than every single person you named.

I never saw anyone like Bo Jackson. Bo lasted 4 seasons in the NFL. And Bo has the advantage of seeing the hits coming. A TE making the transition to the NFL has to focus on the ball while Mica Parsons is lowering his shoulder. Most TEs get hurt or get PTSD quick in the NFL. Dominance in college predicts nothing at that position.

I would normally agree with you, but Bowers is different.
