Or Marv Lewis. Not a long term solution but >.500 beats .300 any day. DA is very similar to many of the head coaches Cincy had in the 10 years leading up to Lewis.

Though I think either would be a caretaker, there is much more precedent in the NFL for an above .500 but couldn't go all the way coach to win it all in his second run than for a coach to win a Super Bowl with one team and do it again with another. Lewis would be more hungry.

I like Bienemy as an option next year.

Hire Dennis Green (we let ‘em off the hook!) from the grave (may peace be upon him).:we’d get better results than what we saw today.

Marvin Freakin Lewis? Are you kidding me? That would almost be like what the Texans did last year by hiring Lovie Smith.

Dennis Allen is not even remotely in Marvin Lewis' class. I am not kidding. Sure, Marvin Lewis didn't win the big games in January, but he took a franchise that was in the dirt and consistently got to those games. Dennis Allen isn't fit to wash Marvin Lewis' jock. Dennis Allen is exactly the kind of head coach Marvin Lewis replaced when he turned the Bengals franchise around from a decade in the gutter. We would be lucky to have Marvin Lewis compared to our current coaching situation. With the ridiculous contract we gave Derek Carr and our lousy salary cap situation, top head coaching candidates might not give us the time of day, and if they did, the rebuild that we require might not give them a fair chance. Lewis as a caretaker who would give us an immediate upgrade might make sense. And honestly, he could win. That .520 record in a tough division is a lot like many other coaches who have gone on to be successful after a change of scenery. And if he loses, thats no worse than Allen, and at least we didn't give a guy who already had a sub-.500 record.

Here is the box score from the one game where Marv Lewis and Dennis Allen faced off:

Gruden would be great and it would be a middle finger to Badell.

Agree. It would also make tinfoil hatters like myself think that every penalty called by the refs against the Saints in a game would be due to Goodell trying to help out every team the Saints play.

Gruden isn’t taking a job become a OC in N.O.

Especially when he’s better than the current HC.

Just look at the Broncos to see how well that works. Gruden would be OK but I don’t see the players buying what he’s selling. I’m down with Bienemy or Lewis,or Green.

I’m talking HC. Tell DA to go back to being the DC and like it or GTF out of town.
