Yep.

Last I checked DA finished 8-28 with Oakland.
So far in NOLA he is 11-14 .

Saints chose “continuity” & so far this team is still stuck in mediocrity.

You may recall Doug Pederson (proven, has a .600 win % with the Jags and a ring) really wanted the Saints gig .

But yes, I completely agree.

More than that
They need a change in scouting and overall philosophy

They'll be stuck in mediocrity for a long time paying for overpaying and extending players because they couldn't afford to cut them. The scouts are still revelling in how good they drafted in 2017. Whoever scouts and picks the DE needs firing out of a cannon

I have no confidence in DA but your position is too extreme. If DA say beat the Seahawks, Lions, and Eagles to win the NFC and them fell to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, I would extend him. With this roster, it would be a better coaching job than Payton ever did. Our coordinators would be getting HC interviews. We have to separate what is very unlikely from the proper action if it happened. If DA wins the NFC I would be thrilled. If Zion Williamson finishes second in the NBA in minutes played I am ok with that. If Andrus Peat starts the rest of the season and allows 1 sack I would extend him. If Trequane Smith had 1200 yards receiving I would not have cut him looking for 1500. If Mickey Loomis got us down to the second most future cap space and draft picks stockpiled of any team I would be ok with him. DA as we know him can’t win the NFC, but in the very unlikely event he did I would recognize he has improved. Likewise and equally likely if we won the NFC due to our oline led by Penning, Hurst, and Peat manhandling the Eagles dline as Adam Prentice set an NFCCG record with 250 yards rushing, I would keep all four of them in 2024 too. I just dont see it as very likely.

If we make the playoffs and win a game or two I would find it hard to fire him. I don't see that we have a roster to really compete for the title, mainly because of our problems at O-line.

What I would factor in if I was the GM, is an important thing that we as fans sadly see little of, is if DA still has the lockerroom. Does the players support and want to play for him? If that isn't the case its time to clean house.

A coach being liked and supported is one thing, but you also cant win the big games with a coach who plays the ‘cool parent.’ Ultimately whether they do it with a smile or fear, a good coach needs to be able to lay down the law and make needed changes happen, not be every players unjudging friend who covers for them no matter what. This is more of my fear with Allen and Carmichael. If a coach is afraid to make needed changes and lacks authority, what you can sometimes see if the apathetic players professing strong support while the driven players act out.

In your slanted opinion they'd be good, no doubt.

No matter how this works out I'll be disappointed. I want my Saints to win but I desperately want Allen gone! My stomach is physically in knots about it. If the Saints lose every game there will at least be a silver lining. If the Saints win every game and win one playoff game, then we are likely stuck with this crappy coaching for another year. I'm ready to rip the Band-Aid off! No matter how much it hurts!

For me: NFC south crown and at least 1 win in the playoffs.

It's Gail Benson who is the one who needs to be convinced he's got to go and I'm not sure she's looking to give anyone in the current regime the boot!

I couldn't agree more with this sentiment.
