An explanation for Drew Brees' Noddle Arm Late In His Career

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Whatever happened to Derek Carr, Pete Carmichael, and Dennis Allen's brains from CTE and dementia is 1000x any problems with Drew Brees shoulder. At least left handed, Brees would see an open receiver....

I’d take Drew’s noodle arm, sewn onto Aaron Brooks’ head, coached by Sean Payton, this Sunday or ANY day, rather than what we’re going to be subjected to.

Re: An explanation for Drew Brees' Noddle Arm Late In His Career

It was very obviously the last 2, maybe 3 years of Drew's career, that they were modifying the offense to hide or conceal the fact that Drew had the noodle arm and coldn't really throw the deep ball. It was like an open secret, defenses knew that the rainbow long bomb was not going to happen, so they could game plan around that, which is why getting to the playoffs became tougher and tougher those last couple years of Payton. Also Taysom Hill was a great find, but it's not an accident they found him -- he was brought here to help Drew out by taking some of the pressure off between the 20s, less snaps for Drew, less chances for his arm to get hit. It actually worked really well because Taysom is in fact a very special player. But his initial appearance in a Saints uniform as diamond in the rough, he was definitely part of the overall effort to hide Drew's arm.
