Re: Anonymous NFL players uninterested in playing for Dennis Allen
Notice how often we are hearing about "player only meetings" and how "players speak up in the locker room, not the coaches."
Everyone can see that DA is not head coach material. He brings zero leadership, zero accountability. He constantly harps "Half time adjustments are overrated" yet his Defense plays like **** in the first half of every game. Couple that with an offense, where it's QB can't read defenses and OC has players running routes right into each other, no wonder we dig ourselves a hole we can't escape from. I have a bad feeling they'll give DA another year, this is the most boring Saints team I've ever seen. Even Andy Dalton's offense was more exciting than this. |

Honestly, a weekend with Aaron Brooks and Joe Horn and a befuddled Haslett on the sidelines would actually be exciting right about now.

Maybe not, but I bet they're glad to play against him.

Re: Anonymous NFL players uninterested in playing for Dennis Allen
I don't think this article says anything we don't already know. It did not ask players to rate all the coaches in the league, it just asked "other than your current coach, name one coach you would want to play for." Shockingly coaches who were success, especially young successful coaches, topped the list. Honestly, we should not even want a player who out of the blue declares our losing coach is his top choice. I don't want players who prefer to play for losers. This doesn't mean we should not get players, it just means that the onus should be on us to sell to them how much we believe in them and how great their role could be with us. If a player calls us first because they just want to play in a weak division with January off, we should hang up.
I don't subscribe to the Athletic so I can't see the full survey results, but I am sure there I highly doubt any coaches in our division are high on players lists. It would be like asking all QBs "other than your current left tackle, who would you trust most to protect your blindside" and being shocked nobody names Andrus Peat, James Hurst, or Trevor Penning. |

I'm over LD Bell (Allen).
It's time to start looking ahead at guys with energy, discipline, innovation, accountability & the mindset to be great. Ben Johnson, Eric B., Brian Flores would be a solid places to start. 2023 schedule was considered "weak" by most experts and the Saints failed to take full advantage. The participation trophy mindset needs to stop. Most fans are sick of it. And I quote my B&G friend Sinner ... "we need a new HEAD COACH". |
