The problem is they don't have talent at the 3 key areas you need to go far in the playoffs: QB, oline, pass rush. Could they MAKE the playoffs with Payton? Sure. Would they go anywhere in the playoffs? No. Their oline won't match up to the pass rush of the top NFC teams and their pass rush won't match up to the oline of top NFC teams and their QB is mediocre at best. At that point players like Kamara, Lattimore, and Olave on the periphery don't matter in those games. |
