Observations from the Saints' Surprise Win vs Panthers

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; when there is nothing to play for; aka no pressure... Saints seemed to play more relaxed and just enjoyed the GAME; Good Win and take it in.... but then again, beating a 1-11 opponent ...isn't saying much. Maybe shoulda taken ...

flag football days... we had a play called the "dead roach" offense snaps the ball and the entire offense falls on their back and kick their legs and arms up like a dying cockroach.... used it when we kicked the other team's ass. the losing team got pissed off and we were penalized, for some reason. good stuff. Saints ought to incorporate it.... hah!

Couldn't watch the game.

Saw some highlights. Saw more lowlights.

I was flying back from vacation so I only caught the final score.

So, am I to assume that Loomis, Allen and Co. have received a Vote of Confidence from Ma Benson?

Guess all things considering the Saints are in a better spot than Carolina. They have paid through the nose to draft Bryce Young, and to me he looks like a strong candidate to earn a bust label. At least the Saints didn't give up draft picks for our bust QB.

Being serious, is there really anything new? The Saints struggled again, won an ugly game against the worst team in the NFL. I guess the positive is no TDs given up, and did decent in the red zone despite not being able to move the ball all afternoon. If the Saints are to make a serious playoff run, Jimmy Graham needs to be relied on heavily.

Listening to a bit of Underhill this morning, it sounds as if the dysfunction continues.

Heard we ran the ball well to start and then puked in the Red Zone (missed FG) but recovered to run it 5 straight times in the RZ later (TD)

Bryce isn't very good
Bryce's WR's can't catch
We did what we were supposed to do against a 1-11 team.
Still giving up too many rushing yards
Ugly win

If I was there I would've knocked the ball out of both their hands and yelled "Do better!"

Quick peek at the final box score, Panthers had better stats.

It's a good thing we were playing a 1-11 team.

Looking ahead to 2024 ...

Go get you a kicker. Blake Grupe (long term) isn't the answer.

Missing chip shot FGs, naw you get cut. Unacceptable.

I didn't watch the game, but it sure seemed like a goofy one.

In a 28-6 win, the Panthers had about 100 more yards of offense than we did, and by and large it wasn't a situation where they were playing from way behind. If you take out AT Perry's long catch, they'd have close to double our yardage. And yes I know yards can be misleading, but it still can be indicative of problems.
