We were both sick that weekend so we had to sell our tickets. We got almost $300 a piece for them. The couple that sit behind us said the Dome was still packed, but lots of blue.
This really cuts both ways. The truth is lots of Lions fans will want to go to road games because they have new exciting successful team and very few Panthers fans will want to go to road games because they have a boring crappy team this year as per usual but more so. So its wrong both to say that the Saints performance or fan loyalty is what caused the Lions game road crowd or what kept the stands black and gold against the Panthers. The fact is that only teams whose fans are excited will draw big road crowds and that will require either a rich history of success and/or an exciting current team. The Saints could go 0-17 five years in a row and a team like the 2023 Panthers would never travel well here because there is no demand, people in Carolina would rather watch their first cousins pick tobacco in their birthday suits than travel to watch the current Panthers team. But by playing poorly we do open up every team that is winning or has a history of winning to travel well here. That is because of supply and demand. If we are winning and exciting too and the traveling team is winning and exciting too, that will drive up ticket prices to $500, and adding the additional cost of hotels and flights, it will limit the road crowd. But if we suck, tickets will drop to $50-100, and the road crowd will be big where demand exists. So, just wait until next year when we play more good teams where demand exists.

Salient points. Well articulated.
