Re: Jon Gruden?

I'd offer him a full time job as an offensive assistant / QB coach.

Re: Jon Gruden?

A coach has never won the Super Bowl with two different franchises so I would not bet on that happening. Also when a coach reaches a certain age they start to get very tired when Matlock comes on the air so its hard to spend those midnight hours innovating new schemes, fixing whats not yet broken, and bringing young assistants up to speed so they just stick to what they know to manage the reduced hours they can handle. To push to create something new they need to be really hungry, and usually its only the ones who have not won before who are able to do that like Reid and Vermeil, and then they build a new thing that works with their current players and run that until those players are too old. Gruden is surely an upgrade over DA, but I don't like his odds to win it all.

Matlock was good. But I never saw him shoot a bad guy. So, it's not worth watching again. He's no Barnaby Jones! Now, that guy could roll down a hill fire his revolver six times and kill eight bad guys!

Barnaby Jones was formidable indeed, I think Mcloud was my guy, any dude come galloping through Central Park on a NYC cops horse wearing the Marlboro guys coat, chasing a bad guy was just awesome. But definitely would take Barnaby, even if he was sporting the Clampett hat

Mannix was a cool dude. I often wondered if he and his secretary, Peggy, had a thing going on.

Oh wait, did we just date ourselves? Lol

Re: Jon Gruden?

IDK but it would be nice to have a coach with any type
of passion. FWIW, Gruden went 22-31 his 2nd time around.

It’s time to go with completely new ideas & concepts.

Preferably someone from Shanahan’s coaching tree.
