However, we may not be the worst situation, with at least an average QB, some talented weapons, and low expectations. Mike McCarthy made it work as OC under Jim Haslett, although DA is probably a slightly worse head coach than Haslett. I think we will eventually lure a second tier candidate who wants to bet on themselves or an experienced hire with a mediocre track record looking for another shot. If worst comes to worst we will hire the internal candidate but that is a loss. Going with an internal candidate when your problem is your system is antiguated and other teams are innovating quickly is a cop out. If you want the best chance for a fix you have to go with someone from the outside. |
