No Playoffs Again

I root for my Saints as much as the next guy, but once TB won today and it became clear in the late games that Dallas would be the number 2 I was hoping that either Seattle or GB would win and take final spot. I got no problem with the Saints taking a beatdown in the playoffs, but I live here in Dallas area and wanted no part of that beatdown. If we could have played them at our place as a division winner I would have been ok with that, but we would have been embarrassed in Dallas and neither I nor the Cajun Canon could have handled that.

Terrible season and a nice finish. Just frustrating when you start looking back at all the games that should’ve been, including trip to Lambeau that we handed to them on a silver platter. Offense was very disappointing this year, but I’m actually more displeased with the inconsistency of the defense. Needs more youth up front along with speed.

Question is who am I rooting for now?

Re: No Playoffs Again

I have a futures bet on Pittsburgh so I will ride the until they are gone, but I definitely am pulling for Texans. On the NFC side I can only pull for Lions.
Dallas-no chance I pull for them ever
Philly- see above
GB- my neighbors are big Packers fans and I can’t stand listening about how great the are
TB- don’t even deserve to be mentioned as a playoff team
LA- they stole a SB from us so no chance I pull for that high pitched gremlin to win

Lions, Texans, Dolphins, Browns and Ravens are all ok with me. Cowboys too because oh well it's been so long and the SB ratings would be huge and the rising tide lifts all boats.

This. The 49ers derangement syndrome is still strong with me, I'm taking it to my grave.

Gotta feeling those teams will meet in the SB.

Maybe Dak changes that this post season 🤷🏼.

In two Super Bowls, Shanahan’s offenses have been outscored 46-0 in the fourth quarter and overtime.

He wins GAMES not CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

Re: No Playoffs Again

The Chiefs winning it all would reassert my opinion that many of the other top QBs are just a bunch of Matt Ryan's which would be funny.

Although its nice to make fun of Josh Allen, I guess I do feel bad for Buffalo fans and it would be nice if they won.

The Browns winning with Flacco would be hilarious. Also Browns fans deserve it.

I view Lamar Jackson as a Matt Ryan like regular season wonder who won't stay healthy long term, and I still dont think other teams were wrong for not pursuing him even if he gets regular season MVP, and the Ravens already got their rings, so I would not want to see the Ravens win it all.

I view Dallas and Prescott similar to Lamar Jackson. Dallas gets enough attention and Prescott is an injury risk who chokes in the playoffs. I don't want them to win because I prefer my view of them to be right.

I don't think the Packers are capable of competing in the playoffs but Jordan Love winning the ring when Rodgers couldn't for 12 years would be absolutely hilarious because Rodgers is a jackass.

I like Hurts. He is an underdog and played well enough to win it all last year. I would not mind if the Eagles won it.

Likewise I see Purdy as an underdog and it would be cool for Mr. Irrelevant to win it all, although I kind of hate the city of San Francisco's sports team owners and feel they were *******s to not share a stadium with the Raiders when both other 2 team markets agreed to share.

Detroit's performance is a Cinderella story but I don't think they win a ring with Goff. I would rather they lose to prove me right. My view on Carr is we can never win with a guy like that unless we have some sort of 85 Bears or Ray Lewis Ravens Defense, even if the coaching is good, and I feel like Goff is Carr with better coaching. Goff winning a ring could mislead our organization into the concept that they can win a ring with Carr and just need to go 'all in.'

I don't know what to make of Miami. I don't trust Tua's health long term. I guess if he gets a ring before the inevitable, good for him.

I don't think Pittburgh is good enough but I don't mind if something crazy happens.

If the Texans win it sets up Stroud to be a legend. I guess thats good for the NFL's marketing but creates an obstacle for us for decades.

I don't think Tampa is good enough to win a playoff game. If they won it all it would create weird arguments that we could have, but its not going to happen.

The Rams could be a dark horse. If they win while rebuilding it shows what an idiot Loomis was going all-in when perhaps we could have done better while rebuilding. I see the Rams as a mid-tier team that would need everything to go right to win it all. I actually think the Rams have more of a chance than Detroit.

I was at the Rams Game on that Thursday we were supposed to win. They looked very strong, and they made us look weaker than we are.

Thank you Saints for another great season. You were in the hunt up till the very end. It was better than most of your seasons, but obviously not as good as others and you really should’ve made the playoffs. And if the team that showed up over the past couple of games had been there earlier in the season you would have. That second-half was incredible. If that team we’re going to the playoffs, we’d stand a chance.

Yeah... out of the participants, it's not hard to root for Buffalo.

I thought Goff was toast when he was traded to Motown. OC Johnson has really gotten the most out of him.

As for the Steelers, I read a crazy stat on Mike Tomlin that he’s never had a losing season as HC (16+ seasons) at Pitt 😱. Managed to win a few games with a backup QB (Rudolph) as well.

Coaching is paramount, even at this level of football.

I'm going Lions because it's the coaching staff we should have.

I'm going Steelers for the in laws. And once the lose to the Bills, I'm going Texans!! :D

No to the Cowboys, Eagles and Ravens, Bills. Kinda getting tired of the Chiefs. The 49ers are doing it the right way. Was on board with the Lions but the bone head going for two instead of the tie when they had all the momentum, soured me on Campbell a little. Flacco is a great story. Tomlin wins with the least talent year after year. Happy Tua stayed upright. Love the fact that Love did what Favre and Rodgers couldn't do in their first seasons. Happy for Mayfield. Dude is a warrior. AMAZING what Ryans did in Houston.

Now that we’ve been reduced to picking our favs in the “PLAYOFFS?!?!?!” Again… I’m going to go out on a limb and risk the firing squad, in saying… RAMS. I like their (young) Head Coach, and I was in L.A. on the Thursday Night Beating we took from them. They played us with a lot of heart and conviction, and looked like they were having fun doing it. I actually respect that.

The Cupcake Schedule Produced:

Three Division Winners: Detroit 12 -5, Tampa Bay 9 -8, & Houston 10-7
Two Wild Card Winners: L.A. Rams 10-7 & Green Bay Packers 9-8

Only the L.A Rams have been eliminated!

5 teams from this cupcake schedule "could" win the Super Bowl.

Over achieving teams with real head coaches.

Just imagine what the likes of Dallas, Chiefs, Eagles, Packers, Browns & Rams (again) are going to do to the Saints in 2024 :(.

And that's not even counting the divisional games. Atlanta will be better & the Bucs have been division champs 3 years and running .
